How to Choose the Right CBD Product

Welcome to Hello Blue CBD!

We started this company because we saw how helpful CBD was in our lives and the lives of our friends and family, and we wanted to share that experience with others. We were also shocked at how expensive it can be! That’s why we price our products lower than others. Every artisanal batch is handcrafted in California.

We know that selecting the right product can be overwhelming, but we are here to help. We’ve put together some resources on this page that will help you to decide. You can look over the product comparison chart for a side-by-side analysis of the different product types we offer. Our FAQ section answers the most common questions we get.

Of course we are always happy to work with you directly! Click the blue chat button in the lower right corner of the page to talk with a person in California during regular business hours.

What is CBD?

CBD is short for cannabidiol, a dietary supplement that is derived from industrial hemp, a member of the Cannabis Sativa family. CBD is just one of many cannabinoids found in hemp, and arguably the most beneficial.  It comes in a few different forms, most commonly as a powder isolate or full-spectrum oil (more on the difference between those later). It has gained popularity as reports come out of it’s success of helping with a wide variety of medical conditions including epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, spasms, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, nausea, convulsions, inflammation, and many other conditions, including cancer.

What is CBD Not?

CBD is not marijuana. Don’t worry, you aren’t going to get high from CBD. Nope, not even a little bit. Hemp and Marijuana both derive from the Cannabis Sativa family, they do share certain similarities; however, due to each plant’s biological structure, they have several very distinct and crucial differences.

And unlike Marijuana, CBD is legal in all 50 states (although a few states are making it difficult to order). It’s also not a banned substance…the World Anti-Doping Agency has removed CBD from its banned substance list. If you are involved in a sport that does drug testing, you should stick with our Regular CBD Oil and CBD Advantage Capsules, which are all THC-Free.

Why Do People Use CBD?

People use CBD for a variety of reasons, but the most common we see are for relief from pain and anxiety. we know with fairly high certainty is that CBD has been shown to be effective for decreasing anxiety and helping in a number of inflammation-related problems, including arthritis and other inflammatory ailments as well as multiple sclerosis. As a bonus, CBD also has very strong antioxidant properties, something that is important for high-intensity sports like cycling and general wellbeing.

Which CBD Product is Best for You?

Hopefully we have made the names of our products lines pretty straightforward so that you can make a good decision. Do you have an inflammatory disease like osteoarthritis or even something unusual like Ankylosing Spondylitis? One of our cofounders has AS and helped develop the Pain Relief and Energy blends to help relieve symptoms. Perhaps you suffer from anxiety and have a hard time sleeping. Our other co-founder does too, and helped develop the Anxiety Relief and Sleep lines for this very reason.

It’s important to understand that the FDA considers CBD to be a dietary supplement. Because they do, by law we have to tell you this: This product has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

That said, we encourage you to do some independent research and decide for yourself what would be best for you. Each of our product pages had a tab that includes links to several medical studies about CBD for pain, anxiety and more.

What Makes Hello Blue CBD Different?

When it comes right down to it, you want to know why you should buy from us; why not buy from someplace else? We’re glad you asked.

First, we our CBD products simply cost less than those others. Why? One of the main reasons we started this company was because had been taking CBD ourselves, but felt like we were spending a lot of money on it every month. It seemed entirely too expensive, so we started looking into it. What did we find? Massive margins being charged by almost everyone. Some companies were (and still are) marking things up by 300-400%. That is…excessive. We wanted to make things affordable and within reach for everyone, and so we have. Shop around and compare our prices to others. We think you’ll be back very quickly. Just be sure to compare total milligrams of CBD so you are doing an apples to apples comparison.

Second, since a lot of people have said that CBD oil tends to taste bad (many have a very strong cannabis flavor) we struck out to create a line of products that actual tastes good. If you don’t like the taste of CBD, add some natural flavor! You can find a list of all of the flavors we offer on our Tasting Notes page. Some of our products, like Hello Blue CBD Energy, have additives that are bitter or tart. We insist on all-natural ingredients, and that’s just how they come. If you add some flavor, like cappuccino, it takes the edge off the bitterness.

Finally, we believe in giving back. At checkout, you’ll see a list of charities that you can donate a portion of the sale to. It doesn’t cost you anything! We think small things like this make a big difference.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the difference between Regular CBD Oil and Full Spectrum Oil?

Regular CBD Oil contains CBD isolate (only a portion of the industrial hemp plant) which contains only one terpene (99.9% CBD). There is no THC. CBD isolate is nearly tasteless and thus combines well with other flavors.
Full Spectrum Oil contains the entire industrial hemp plant and thus has many cannabinoids such as CBG, CBD, CBA, etc. and includes THC. The THC is lower than the legal federal limit of 0.3% and will not produce psychoactive effects. It tastes like hemp (earthy).

Are you a chain company?

Nope. We make everything in house and get our supplies direct from farmers. We support local businesses. Most CBD on the market comes from the three large cannabis companies and is just white labeled for different businesses. Our products are made with all-natural ingredients and have no fillers. We have one brick and mortar location in Southern California and ship worldwide. You can find our products in a few local shops around the country.

How do you give back?

We like contributing to many causes as we have volunteered for worthy causes for decades. The charities we currently donate to are listed on our charities page. Each order has the option to donate a portion of the sale at no cost to the customer.

What do I do if I have a problem with my order?

If something is wrong, let us know! Please reach out to us either by live chat (the blue box in the lower right corner), email (support at helloblue dot zendesk dot com) or call us directly at +1 (619) 768-2836. We will do what it takes to make you happy with your purchase!

Will your products get me high?

Nope. CBD Isolate is completely THC-free, and the Full Spectrum line has less than the legal federal limit of 0.3% THC. You would have to take A LOT of the Full Spectrum oil to feel anything close to high...and if that is what you are going for, we suggest you go to a marijuana dispensary instead, it will be considerably cheaper.

How fast does CBD work?

You'll feel the effects of each of our product lines at different times, since they are consumed or applied differently. See the product comparison chart above for general times.
For the ingestible products, we suggest regular use as CBD does build up in your system over time, usually reaching maximum efficacy 2-3 weeks into daily use.

Can I overdose on CBD?

Nope. Quite the contrary. When CBD was being pioneered in treating epilepsy in Colorado, the doses they gave were between 400 to 4000mg per day.

Where do you get your CBD?

We buy our CBD from reputable, organic farmers in Oregon, Colorado and Kentucky. We 3rd party test all of our products to ensure the maximum potency and safety.
There are a lot of places that sell CBD these careful. Many of the CBD products that are produced overseas contain trace amounts of pesticides and heavy metals.

How do you keep your carbon footprint small?

We believe in leaving our planet better than we found it, so we reduce, reuse and recycle as often as we can. Our bottles, jars and packaging are recycled and/or recyclable. Our shipping boxes are made from recycled paper. We reuse the shipment packaging we receive for shipping to customers. We use LED lights in our shop, use as little water as possible and keep our waste to a minimum.

Where do you ship?

Worldwide. Chances are we sell to the country you are in, but if not, you will not have the option to checkout.
